It’s no secret I love doing sessions at Smithville Mansion and the park around it. No matter what time of day or the season it’s just an awesome place to go. I met the Cairns Family there in the fall of 2020 to do a family session with their little girl and it was so much fun. It was really hard narrowing down which pictures to use for this post. There were so many cute moments.
When most people think of Christmas portraits they think about being in a studio but your home can be a wonderful backdrop! It’s a perfect way to showcase all the hard work you put into decorating! I love that the Boufidis family does this every year. This year was extra exciting because I had the opportunity to meet their new daughter! Covid cancelled our plans of doing her newborn session in early 2020 so I it was so nice getting to see everyone again and take their first portraits as a family of four!
2021 was such an insane year for photographers. We had to cram all of 2020 and 2021 weddings into one season! Now that the craziness is behind me I’ll be taking time to catch up on all the sessions and weddings I missed blogging in the past year and a half. First up is Madeline’s 1st birthday session!
In 2018 I photographed Chelsea and Matt’s wedding at Running Deer Golf Club so I was so excited to hear from them when it was time to do their daughter’s first birthday session. It’s always wonderful to see my old couples again and get the chance to catch up! We met up at Croft Farms in Cherry Hill on a warm, July evening. Madeline was wonderful and we had so much fun taking family pictures then some of her alone. She wasn’t too sure what to make of the cake but she looked adorable!
I love when families get together to do an extended session. They take a lot of work to coordinate everyone’s schedules, outfits and hope all the kids cooperate but the payoff is so worth it! For this session we were blending two extended families so it was extra special. Everyone looked amazing together with their coordinating (but not matching) outfits. They all complimented each other so nicely when we mixed up the groupings and worked well together in their little family units.
I had the joy of meeting baby Adriana in her home two weeks after she was born. I love doing newborn sessions at home and incorporating the nursery into the session. It is so personalized and cozy! Added bonus that the parents don’t have to worry about traveling with a newborn! For Adriana’s session we started off in her room and then did a few family photos in the master bedroom where they could all snuggle together.
I can’t believe a year has passed since I did Dominic’s newborn photos! In that session we incorporated baseball and football themes so it’s very fitting that his cake smash was baseball themed with a Phillies cake! We started out with portraits of Dominic and a few family ones as well. Then we headed to the baseball field to let him have his cake!
Last weekend I met up with the Miller Family for their annual family session. I’ve loved seeing the girls each year and watching them grow and their personalities blossom. This year we met at the Barclay Farmstead Museum in Cherry Hill, NJ. The girls were dressed in beautiful yellow lace dresses with maroon knee socks that complimented the maroon Mom and Dad wore in their outfits. Every time Chrissy does an amazing job putting their outfits together and this year was no different! As we wandered around the grounds of the farmstead we captured a mix of candids and posed portraits. The girls playfulness really came out as they explored and the fence lining the walkways was a big hit for climbing in an out of. We also made our way over the bridge into the woods to look for woodland creatures. We didn’t find any but the girls still had fun exploring!
The tease of warm weather this weekend has me thinking forward to Spring! I can’t wait to be out shooting in the beautiful sunlight again soon. Last spring I had a great time taking the Miller’s family portraits at Kirby’s Mill in Medford. It’s such a cute little spot that is packed full of great picture locations. I always love getting together with the Millers too! Their girls are so incredibly sweet. Their older daughter melted my heart when she took my hand to walk over to the next spot. It was such a great session full of so much family love!
I met Ainsley and her parents at Smithville Mansion for a family session and 2nd birthday portraits. We lucked out with a beautfiul day that luckily wasn’t too warm. Ainsley gave me my workout for the day running around after her but we had so much fun! I love letting toddlers play and run during our session so we can capture natural smiles and laughs! After we took Ainsley’s portraits we did some family pictures around the Smithville Mansion grounds. I love shooting there since they always keep the mansion so beautifully decorated and it didn’t disappoint for this session.
Last week the Mama-togs all got together to exchange pictures of each other with their children. As photographers we always end up behind the camera and rarely get pictures with our families so this is a great chance to focus on the moms! We met up at Boundary Creek and let the kids play while we all took time in front of the camera. I'm so happy to share my favorites of the night with you.
Ava is about to celebrate her first birthday so she came into the studio to visit me for her first birthday and cake smash session! I had so much fun planning out her session with her mom and LOVED her birthday dress. Ava's mom and I both share a love for Etsy inspired outfits and decorations. I designed a flower themed set for her birthday outfit that let Ava stand out and then we did a Wild One theme for her cake smash. I absolutely love when babies go face first into eating their cake and Ava didn't disappoint! She touched her cake a few times and then just went right in for eating it. She definitely enjoyed it!
As the snow is coming down I can't help but dream of last week when the weather gave us a beautiful 50 degree afternoon! Andrea wanted to try to do her maternity session outdoors if the weather would cooperate and we were able to do it just three days later! I met her and her family at Smithville Mansion in Easthampton for her maternity session. We had fun taking family portraits and then ending with portraits of the mama to be by herself in a gorgeous lace gown. I'm now offering gowns like the one she is wearing for all of my maternity sessions!
First off was the family portraits with big sister to be Ava. There is so much personality packed into such a little girl! She had me cracking up with her dancing, singing and playfulness.
I had the pleasure of seeing Benjamin again for his newborn session. We did a studio session this time with the whole family! Benjamin was more interested in what we were doing than sleeping so in most of his pictures he is peeking at me with one eye. He still did wonderful and we got so many portraits. Mom loves penquins so we included that in his session too.
This spring a group of momma photographers got together to swap pictures of one another and let the kids play. We met at the Burlington riverside and had some fun in the setting sun. It was a bit overcast that day but we still had a good time!
